December 2020 - March 2024 | Greenville, SC

At Schneider Tree Care, the largest regional tree care company in the Southeast, I served as Chief Technology Officer. My role was to optimize and maximize company operations through technology. I initiated and led the development of the Mantx software system, transforming core processes such as sales, dispatching, and billing, resulting in a significant boost in net income and enhanced operational efficiency.

I facilitated daily cross-departmental meetings to convert business needs into actionable data models and robust front-end solutions. Additionally, I handled usual IT responsibilities including computer, network, website, and VOIP phone system maintenance and deployment. Strengthening cybersecurity measures and ensuring rigorous auditing and adaptation of user access protocols were also key aspects of my role.

April 2010 - December 2020 | Greenville, SC

As the CEO and owner of Joe Knows, LLC, I drove the strategic sale of electronic components under the Joe Knows Electronics brand. I expanded the business offerings to include PCB engineering and production services, delivering specialized solutions to high-profile clients like Google, US Navy, NASA, Microsoft, and BAE Systems.

I relocated to China to establish and oversee manufacturing operations, navigating regulatory challenges and market fluctuations during COVID-19 to sustain and grow the business.

Personal Life and Interests

In my downtime, I prioritize connecting and spending purposeful time with my wife, Hao, and daughter, Angela. We enjoy evening walks in the neighborhood or at the park, and we love cooking spicy Hunan Chinese food together daily. We often meet with neighbors, friends, and family to eat together and play board games. Traveling extensively and living in Asia has made me appreciative of other cultures and open to new experiences.

My professional skills have stemmed from a natural hunger to learn more. This drives me to take on personal projects in 3D printing, microcontroller programming, electronic design, and coding. Currently, I’m studying React and Next.js to enhance my full stack application development skills.
